tablets of wisdom from the mountain,
but yowls of confusion from the ground.
He's a conscience-stricken Everyman
winding his way through the chaos and decline."

Oh, and there's a new album out, too, released soon to CD:
21st Century Breakdown.
Rolling Stone's review here.
Hi Annie,
ReplyDeleteLooks interesting. Will check it out.
Wow, what a good review!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you can proudly talk about your "infatuation".
I am very reluctant when I have to mention about mine: New Kids on the Block:(
Thanks for the information, Annie. It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI was in college in the mid to late eighties, but for some reason, I loved music of the sixties. Go figure. I was in love with Jim Morrison. Then I read his life story. It crushed me. LOL! Unless people were lying about him, he was a self-centered jerk. I still love the music, but it ruined my little daydreams:)
I'm glad your hero is a good person. That makes it even better.
Hi Julie, I know what you mean- sometimes you don't want to know a singer's (or an actor's) background. I admire Armstrong for what he's accomplished, but not for how he's lived his life. He apparently still struggles with alcohol and cigarettes (hopefully not drugs). I'm sure he's a good person, though. You can see it in his eyes.
